Nadeem Ahmad

Nadeem’s love for music and dance has been a lifelong passion. As a student at Teesside Polytechnic (now Teesside University), he taught himself and others Bhangra, competed in the first regional Asian Bhangra competition, and even completed a 24-hour charity disco dance in 1978.

He proudly joins Company of Others as a Trustee/Director, supporting a community dance company that aligns with his lifelong enthusiasm for the arts.

Beyond dance, Nadeem has spent over four decades championing race relations, community engagement, and migration support. His career includes key roles with Northumbria Police, Newcastle City Council, and the North East Strategic Migration Partnership.

An active community leader, he currently serves on the boards of Tyne Housing Ltd and the Elders Council, is a primary school governor, and chairs the ITV/Tyne Tees Diversity Panel. Known for his innovation and action-driven approach, he has led projects that have improved the lives of diverse communities across Newcastle and the North East.
