Maya was born and raised in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Having trained in contemporary dance when she was younger, she is grateful to be working within such a wonderful dance organisation alongside her day-to-day work as an actor. Within her practise across the arts, Maya is passionate about amplifying the voices of those who are often othered within our industry through her work and thus, is particularly grateful to be working within a company that holds these values at the heart of everything they do. Maya is also experienced in working with young people, delivering dance and acting training, so is excited to bring this experience into her work with WYDP as well as the other groups that make up a big part of Company of Others. Maya is excited for what the future holds for herself and the organisation.
