What’s happening each week?

Week One (January 21st): Contact Improvisation with Alys North

This session, Alys will lead a Contact Improvisation workshop, a movement practice focused on connection, play, and confidence. Through simple guided exercises that prioritise care, Alys will create a supportive environment for everyone to explore and enjoy movement, no prior experience required.

Week Two (January 28th): Boxing with Katie Toner

Join Katie Toner, founder of UNITE CLUB, for a boxing session designed to build strength and confidence. This fun, inclusive workshop will guide you through empowering techniques, whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, all in a supportive environment.

Week Three (February 4th): Aerial with Lynn and Ula

Lynn and Ula will guide an Aerial workshop, combining movement on the hoop and cocoon with moments of play and creativity. Through gentle, supportive exercises, you’ll explore the joy of flying, shape-making, and grounding movement, with options to try hula hoops and a teeny tightwire.

Week Four (February 11th): Self-Defence with Jo and Deborah

Join Jo and Deborah from Newcastle Blackbelt Academy for a practical Self-Defence workshop. This session introduces effective self-defence techniques, alongside kickboxing-inspired moves. Build confidence and develop valuable skills in a supportive and welcoming space.

Week Five (February 18th): Dance with Dorine

Join movement artist Dorine Mugisha for a Punking/Whacking workshop—a vibrant dance style from the 1970s underground gay clubs that celebrates storytelling, powerful poses, and freedom through movement. Set to an energising Afro-disco playlist, this session invites you to explore self-expression, connect with others, and find joy through dance.
