Grief Floats Dancer Open Call

Company of Others are hoping to meet 7 artists of all movement disciplines and ages to join our 2025 all woman cast of Grief Floats. 

We want to work with artists who are:

  • intuitive, curious, empathetic, courageous and comfortable with the unknowns of a creative process
  • prepared to perform and be comfortable in the sea, in cold temperatures
  • artists who enjoy bringing themselves and their personal and ancestral experiences to the work and rehearsal room, collaborating with the choreographer to devise their movement journey through Grief Floats
  • generous, kind and supportive team members, who are committed to working in a care filled way to make the best work possible
  • artists who identify with being ‘othered’ by the society we live in
  • UK based
  • available for all rehearsal and performance dates

We are especially interested in working with women over the age of 40, there is no upper age limit.

Shortlisted artists will be invited to a workshop on: Sunday 18th May, 12-4pm.
All travel expenses will be covered for travel from outside of the North East.

Rehearsal Dates: 
16th – 27th June 2025
11th – 22nd June 2025

Performances: 
25th – 31st August 2025

Rates of pay are between £610 – £710 per week depending on experience, plus travel and accomodation expenses and personal Company Care allowance.
